Only one day in Sapporo? This itinerary packs in the Snow Festival grounds, a miso ramen lunch, the TV Tower view, and a Tanukikoji evening — without ever feeling rushed.

Morning: Odori Park & the Snow Festival

Start at Odori Park, the green spine of the city. In February it transforms into the main venue of the Sapporo Snow Festival, with snow sculptures the size of buildings. Even outside festival season, the park is the best orientation point in town.

Lunch: Miso Ramen, Obviously

You are in the city that invented miso ramen — skipping it would be a crime. Head to Ramen Alley (Ramen Yokocho) in Susukino or see our three-shop guide for the shortlist.

Afternoon: Sapporo TV Tower

The 90-meter observation deck gives you the classic shot straight down Odori Park. Go around 3 pm in winter and you get daylight, sunset, and the first illuminations in a single visit.

Evening: Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade

End the day under the covered roof of Tanukikoji — 900 meters of souvenir shops, drugstores, and izakaya. It is the easiest place in Hokkaido to check off your entire gift list.
